Our View: With a worst result of 16th on the "cookie-cutter" tracks, he is a good value in Nationwide series games and should outperform Vickers during the race. |

Our View: These cars are impounded after qualification, and in order to start fast, the drivers have to qualify with a very loose setup. Inexperience wasn't the only factor in Steve Wallace's earlier crash. |

Steve Wallace crashed during his lap of qualification and will have to go to a backup car. They have only three hours or so until the start of the Carquest Auto Parts 300.
Our View: We had just got through waving a green flag over Wallace for showing increased maturity, but he can no longer be considered a good value. |

Both Gene Haas cars were confiscated at Lowe's Motor Speedway prior to Saturday's first practice session for a discrepancy in the location of the brackets for the rear spoiler. Scott Riggs and Johnny Sauter will have to go to backup cars and fall to the rear.
Our View: Apparently the cars passed post-qualification inspection, however, or Sauter's penalty would be even worse: He would have had his time disallowed, which would have sent him home. More penalties will be announced later. |
