Reutimann gets career first top-10

David Reutimann was strong in practice for the Coke 600 and he backed that up with a strong race run. He finished 10th, which is his first career top-10.

Our View: Reutimann has started 39 races in 47 attempts with a previous best of 13th last fall at Richmond.

Hornish top rookie in Coke 600

Sam Hornish was the top rookie in the Coke 600 with his 13th-place finish. It was the third time this season he's taken top honors.

Our View: This was also his best career finish, but it could have been even better. Hornish was running in the top 10 with 15 laps to go before fuel mileage gambles shuffled the final standings.

Kahne wins Coke 600

It's been 54 races since Kasey Kahne last went to victory lane in a point paying race and he's had only two top-fives during that span, but he backed up an All-Star win last week with a victory in the Coke 600.

Our View: Most importantly, his victory lifted him into the top 12 in points, and nearly every driver in Chase contention at this point of the season, has stayed in the top 12 through the last regular season event.

Andretti 16th in Indy 500

Sunday 5/25, 3:48 PM CT

John Andretti finished 16th in the 92nd annual Daytona 500. He was one lap off the pace, having been lapped by race winner Scott Dixon o the final circuit.

Our View: Andretti was never a factor for a top-10, but now he'll have a renewed spirit if (when?) he returns to NASCAR.
