B Labonte re-ups for four years

Along with the announcement that Petty Enterprises took on a majority investor, it was disclosed that Bobby Labonte has re-signed for four years.

Our View: That will give them the stability needed to use this capital to improve. This can only help the results of the No. 43.

Petty Enterprises gets investor

Petty Enterprises announced Wednesday that majority interest in the organization had been bought by Boston Ventures, an investment group. David Zucker will replace Kyle Petty as CEO.

Our View: As sad a day as this may be for stock car fans, a similar move by Ray Evernham, with an influx of non-racing executives, is finally paying dividends in how they are running. The same should happen at Petty Enterprises.
