Love posts double-doubleMonday 7/14, 11:14 PM CT
Kevin Love made his Summer League debut on Monday night. He posted 18 points and 13 rebounds in a loss to the Mavericks. Love chipped in one assist and one steal.

Our View: Despite the loss, it was a good way for Love to start his NBA career. Summer League stats don't mean a whole lot, but Love should have a chance to start with the Wolves and post more lines like this during the season. He'll have to fight Al Jefferson for the boards, though.
Greene scores 20 in Summer LeagueMonday 7/14, 9:48 PM CT
Donte Greene celebrated his contract agreement by scoring 40 points in his Rockets debut on Monday night. He shot 12-of-20 from the field, 5-of-10 from three, and 11-of-12 at the line in a Summer League win over the Suns. Greene added three rebounds and three assists.

Our View: Summer League stats don't mean a whole lot (ask Travis Outlaw and Von Wafer), but this is still a good sign. We don't believe Greene will make a huge impact as a rookie. He has a high ceiling, though.
Bayless scores 28 in debutMonday 7/14, 9:18 PM CT
Jerryd Bayless had a nice debut with the Blazers in a Summer League game against the Wizards. The rookie guard poured in 28 points and added four rebounds. Bayless made his living at the line, hitting 18-of-23 from the stripe.

Our View: The Blazers got themselves an athletic scorer from the point position, and it'll be interesting to see how he fits in alongside Brandon Roy. It's nice to seem him being aggressive in Summer League play, but the box score says Jerryd didn't manage to record even one assist. That's not a good sign for his fantasy value.
Gallinari scores 14, leaves earlyMonday 7/14, 8:01 PM CT
Danilo Gallinari made his Knicks debut on Monday night in the Summer League tilt with the Cavaliers. The forward was scoreless in the first half, but he ended up with 14 points, six rebounds, two assists, one block, and four turnovers over 30 minutes. Gallinari left the game with five minutes remaining due to a sore back, the AP reports.

Our View: Hopefully the back injury won't keep Danilo from playing in future games, as we'd like to get a good look at him before the 2008-09 fantasy season.
Greene agrees to dealMonday 7/14, 6:47 PM CT
The Rockets and forward Donte Greene have reached an agreement on a contract, the Houston Chronicle reports. Terms were not disclosed.

Our View: Greene faces an uphill battle for playing time as a rookie. The 6-11 forward is skinny and needs a lot of work on both ends of the court. Donte has a high ceiling, but fantasy owners shouldn't have him on their cheat sheets.
Magic asking about CrittentonMonday 7/14, 6:35 PM CT
The Magic and Grizzlies have engaged in serious trade talks regarding point guard Javaris Crittenton, Florida Today reports.

Our View: The Grizzlies are flush with point guard talent, and the trade rumors usually involve either Mike Conley or Kyle Lowry. Crittenton would likely end up as the top backup to Jameer Nelson.
Dooling rips team over contract offerMonday 7/14, 6:32 PM CT
Keyon Dooling was "insulted" by the Magic's recent contract offer. The team placed a two-year, $4.2 million deal on the table, Florida Today reports. "I don’t know if they were trying to devalue me or whatever the case may be, but that wasn’t acceptable," Dooling says. "It’s ridiculous. That’s not a suitable offer for someone who was a good player on a good team. It wasn’t a market value offer and that’s the bottom line." The guard made $3.5 million in 2007-08.

Our View: We'd have to agree with Dooling on this one. He's not an All-Star, but that's a low offer for a quality defender who can play both guard spots and be a solid asset in any rotation. It sounds like he won't be back in Orlando next season.
Lue leaves Miami without offer Monday 7/14, 2:12 PM CT
Tyronn Lue bypassed a scheduled physical with the Heat and left Miami without an offer, according to the Sun-Sentinel. The team was not going to offer him a deal without a physical, as he was limited last season by calf problems with Dallas.

Our View: Lue had previously been seen as leaning toward the Suns.
Rose pleads guilty to speeding chargeMonday 7/14, 1:18 PM CT
Derrick Rose pleaded guilty Monday to driving more than 40 mph over the speed limit on an Illinois highway back in April, according to the AP. Kane County Associate Judge Robert J. Morrow ordered Rose to pay a $1,000 fine and attend traffic school, according to the county’s state’s attorney’s office.

Our View: The misdemeanor speeding charge happened in April, when Rose was pulled over after the Illinois State Police clocked him driving 106 mph in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 88 in Kane County.
Ellis will start at pointMonday 7/14, 10:37 AM CT
The Warriors seem confident that emerging superstar Monta Ellis can handle the point guard duties for the Warriors next season, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The same article also mentions several teams are interested in sign-and-trade scenarios for Ellis but GM Chris Mullin is intent on keeping him.

Our View: Look out for another big campaign from Ellis. In his three seasons his scoring average has gone from 6.8 to 16.5 to 20.2. As the primary ball handler, his 3.9 assist rate could double. Don Nelson has coached a number of fantasy studs at the position including Steve Nash, Tim Hardaway and Baron Davis.
Stuckey injuredMonday 7/14, 10:13 AM CT
NBA.com reports that Rodney Stuckey sat out most of the second half with an undisclosed injury, has been one of the best players in Las Vegas

Our View: Stuckey, as expected, has been one of the most impressive summer league participants. He scored 21 points, five rebounds and four assists in the first game and had totaled eight points and four boards in 19 minutes before coming out of the second. The Pistons may be trying to open more playing time up for the guard, and if they do, he could make a significant impact in fantasy leagues.
Artest wants to be tradedMonday 7/14, 7:23 AM CT
ESPN indicates that Ron Artest is now acting as his own agent and hinted that he would like to be traded. Artest said, "I hope I can go with a team who can commit to me on whatever the terms may be. Even in Indiana when they were worried about extending me, I still produced for them. I do believe there is a team out there that can be more committed than Sacramento to me. Now that I'm my own agent, I can get a better feel on how teams really view me because I can represent myself."

Our View: He would primarily like to be dealt to the Lakers, along with Kenny Thomas, in exchange for Lamar Odom. He scored 20.5 points per game in 2007-08, and would help the Lakers make another run at the finals if he ultimately lands with the club.
