Miami considers GholstonSunday 4/20, 11:56 PM CT
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Vernon Gholston figures to be one of the first names - maybe even the very first - announced from the podium in the opening round of the NFL draft on Saturday. One of the few questions surrounding Gholston is where to play him in the pros. He was a defensive end in Ohio State's 4-3 defense, but could play either end or outside linebacker in an NFL team's 3-4 alignment. "Gholston has excited people," ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. told the Kansas City Star. "Those kinds of players, those attacking, outside-linebacker/defensive-end types, are going to help you right away."

Our View: Rumor has it that Miami is considering making the Ohio State defensive end, their overall top selection. Surprising, but possible. Earlier this week, the Sun-Sentinel reported, the Fins contacted seeking the representatives for Gholston to see what it would take to sign the uber-athlete.
Allen left Minn. without deal in placeSunday 4/20, 2:38 PM CT
Jared Allen reportedly left Minnesota on Sunday morning without a deal in place, according to The Star Tribune. Allen's Agent Ken Harris commented, "I can’t really go into anything now outside of how impressed Jared has been with the organization here. Myself too. Hope we have reason to talk in a few days." Talks are expected to continue between the Vikings and his agent about a multi-year contract. Talk between the Vikings and Chiefs about a possible trade will also continue.

Our View: Allen would fit in well along Minnesota's solid defensive line, and his fantasy stock would remain strong if he ultimately joins the team.
Jacobs spotted with arm injury? Sunday 4/20, 12:49 PM CT
Brandon Jacobs was reportedly spotted at Madison Square Garden on Saturday with a cast on his left forearm and his arm wrapped up in a sling, according to the NY Daily News. Jacobs had surgery recently on his left wrist, to just "clean some stuff out." He commented that he will definitely be ready for the start of training camp.

Our View: Jacobs broke loose for 1009 yards in 2007, and is heading into a contract year.
Johnson needed Vicodin? Sunday 4/20, 12:44 PM CT
Calvin Johnson noted that he needed Vicodin to aid his deep bone bruise in his lower back sustained early last season, according to MLive.com. He said, "I was on meds the rest of the season. I was taking Vicodin twice a game just to get through the game. I stayed hurt the whole season, probably because I was trying to come back too soon. But I'm not going to be the kind of guy who's going to say, 'I can't do this or this because I'm hurt." He never recovered to full strength during the season and added, "I had almost 800 yards last year and I'm not saying I could double that, but I can put up 1,200 yards. I did that in college in 14 games. I expect the highest out of myself, and I put big numbers in front of myself as goals. I'll get 1,000 yards, no doubt."

Our View: His fantasy stock will continue to rise.
Pace expected to be fully cleared Sunday 4/20, 11:04 AM CT
Orlando Pace is expected to be fully medically cleared in time for the start of training camp, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. His surgeon, Dr. Walt Lowe, has told Pace that he should be fully cleared in time for the start of training camp in late July. Pace said he wants to take it slow, and added, "But once I get the strength back up, the contact is easy to come back." Rebounding from the arm injury worried him more "because you do so much punching," he stated. "The shoulder, being that it's my right shoulder, I seldom get it caught outside. As long as I can keep it close and tucked in, I won't have any reservations about it."

Our View: This is good news for Pace and the Rams offensive line, which remains an area of need for the team heading into the draft.
Bodden was traded due to attitude? Sunday 4/20, 8:01 AM CT
Leigh Bodden, who was Cleveland's best cornerback, may have been traded due to his change in attitude after signing a big contract, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View: He will help solidify the Lions' secondary, and his fantasy value remains favorable. He notably made 88 tackles (76 solo) and six interceptions in 2007.
