Grant rushes for 92Monday 9/8, 11:24 PM CT
Ryant Grant rushed 12 times for 92 yards in the Packers Week 1 victory.

Our View: Although Grant split carries with Brandon Jackson, he proved it's his job when he returns to full health averaging 7.7 YAC.
Jennings hauls in five passesMonday 9/8, 10:46 PM CT
Greg Jennings caught five passes for 91 yards against the Vikings in Week 1.

Our View: Jennings looked fully recovered from his knee injury as he hauled in five passes from Aaron Rodgers. Jennings looks like he could be a solid WR2 for your fantasy squad.
Rice catches TDMonday 9/8, 9:58 PM CT
Sidney Rice caught two passes for 31 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings Week 1 loss to the Packers.

Our View: Rice's size provides a nice red-zone target for the Vikings. He saw five targets in Week 1.
Rodgers wins in debutMonday 9/8, 9:50 PM CT
Aaron Rodgers completed 18-of-22 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown. He added 35 yards rushing and a game-clinching rushing score, as the Packers beat the Vikings 24-19.

Our View: Rodgers looked solid in his debut. He could end up being a great draft-day value as he has very capable receivers in Greg Jennings and Donald Driver.
Jackson looks inconsistentMonday 9/8, 9:46 PM CT
Tarvaris Jackson completed only 16-of-35 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown. Jackson also added 65 yards on nine carries. However, he threw a costly interception at the end of the game, ending all chances for a comeback against the Packers.

Our View: Jackson needs to open up the passing game a bit, so Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor can continue running the ball with great success.
Peterson goes over 100Monday 9/8, 9:39 PM CT
Adrian Peterson rushed 19 times for 103 yards and a touchdown and also caught an 11-yard pass in the Vikings' Week 1 loss.

Our View: Peterson handled most the load for the Vikings and looked as explosive as ever. He gave fantasy owners exactly what they paid for, 100+ yards and a TD.
Young's MRI rescheduledMonday 9/8, 9:08 PM CT
Vince Young's MRI has been rescheduled for Tuesday, according to the AP.

Our View: Reports have surfaced that Young has a torn MCL, and will miss anywhere from two-to-four weeks. We shall see what the MRI reveals. Check back tomorrow for an update.
Broncos Week 1 inactivesMonday 9/8, 8:32 PM CT
For the Monday night's matchup against the Raiders, the following Broncos are inactive: S Calvin Lowry, Ryan Torain, Louis Green, Erik Pears, Tom Nalen, Dylan Gandy, Jarvis Moss, and Josh Shaw, according to Raiders.com.

Our View: Torain, a fifth-round pick from Arizona State, injured his elbow during training camp practice on August 6. He should remain inactive through mid-season.
Raiders Week 1 inactivesMonday 9/8, 8:28 PM CT
For the Monday night matchup against Denver, the following Oakland players are inactive: Javon Walker, Marques Tuiasosopo, Todd Watkins, Rashad Baker, Kalimba Edwards, John Wade, and Mario Henderson, according to Raiders.com.

Our View: Not a shocker with Walker missing the game. His injury seems like its going to linger and effect his performance for awhile, if not all season.
LT not expected to miss timeMonday 9/8, 7:09 PM CT
LaDainian Tomlinson is not expected to miss any practice time this week after injuring his toe in the Chargers' Week 1 loss to the Panthers, according to Chargers.com.

Our View: A sigh of relief for LT owners, as his toe should be fine and shouldn't cause him to miss any time.
Feely signed by JetsMonday 9/8, 6:36 PM CT
The Jets have signed kicker Jay Feely , formerly of the Chiefs, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View: The Jets Week 1 starter, Mike Nugent, is believed to have pulled a thigh muscle in Week 1 and will be sidelined indefinitely.
Morris out for Week 2Monday 9/8, 6:23 PM CT
Maurice Morris will not play in Seattle's Week 2 game against San Francisco due to his sprained knee, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Our View: Look for Julius Jones to receive the bulk of the work with Morris out. We'll keep you updated on Morris' injury.
Bennett out with broken footMonday 9/8, 6:16 PM CT
Drew Bennett is expected to miss at least six weeks after fracturing his left foot in the Rams' Week 1 loss to Philadelphia, according to the Belleville News-Democrat.

Our View: Bennett's injury woes continue, as the Rams lose one of their best targets. We'll keep you updated on his situation. Bennett hasn't been fantasy worthy since leaving the Titans.
Jackson sporting knee braceMonday 9/8, 5:54 PM CT
Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is warming up on the field in Green Bay wearing a knee brace, according to the St. Paul Pioneer-Press. It was not known if Jackson was going to wear a brace on his sprained knee or not, as it limits his mobility.

Our View: One of Jackson's best assets is his mobility, so the fact he has the brace on and is at less than 100 percent does not bode well for that aspect of his game. This shouldn't affect fantasy owners much, because Jackson should not be in starting lineups.
Payton explains Meachem benchingMonday 9/8, 5:48 PM CT
Former first-round draft pick Robert Meachem was inactive for the Saints Week 1 contest, but New Orleans head coach Sean Payton said he does not think it will be a regular occurrence, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "I think it was just this first week. I don't envision that being the case all season long," Payton said.

Our View: Must be reassuring for Meachem to know that Payton has no plans to bench him for the entire year. The big wideout had a nice preseason, and looked like he was coming on as somebody who could help the Saints and fantasy owners alike, but being sat down Week 1 is not a positive sign.
Gruden wants to get Graham more involvedMonday 9/8, 5:41 PM CT
After a game where running back Earnest Graham had just 10 carries but amassed 91 yards, Tampa Bay head coach Jon Gruden said that he needs to do a better job of getting Graham carries, according to the Tampa Tribune. "I will be the first to say that Earnest played well and we have to get it to him more," Gruden remarked.

Our View: Fantasy owners will second that notion. Graham also had three catches for 27 yards on the day, so it wasn't a lost cause, but had he gotten 5-10 more touches, he could have gone from a good performance to a great performance.
Decision on Smith not yet madeMonday 9/8, 5:29 PM CT
49ers coach Mike Nolan said they have not yet decided whether or not to put quarterback Alex Smith on injured reserve, and would need more information before making that decision, according to ESPN.com.

Our View: If Smith were to go on IR, that would effectively end his career with San Francisco in all likelihood. If Smith is out for the season, the 49ers would be forced to bring in a veteran quarterback.
Finley inactiveMonday 9/8, 5:17 PM CT
Packers third-round draft pick Jermichael Finley is healthy, but is inactive for Monday night's game, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Also inactive are center Scott Wells, wide receiver James Jones, guard Josh Sitton, safety Charlie Peprah, cornerback Pat Lee, tight end Jermichael Finley and defensive end Jeremy Thompson.

Our View: Finley had been struggling in training camp, so this is not a complete shock, but it's not a great sign that he isn't even in uniform for his first NFL game.
Fine unlikely to playMonday 9/8, 5:12 PM CT
Derek Fine will probably not play in the Bills Week 2 contest, as he is still dealing with a thumb injury, according to BuffaloBills.com.

Our View: Fine has fantasy potential as a receiver, but he would be behind Robert Royal on the depth chart even if he wasn't injured, so that will have to wait.
Green will undergo testsMonday 9/8, 5:07 PM CT
Houston running back Ahman Green will need to undergo tests on the ankle he sprained on Sunday against the Steelers, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Our View: The news that Green got hurt is among the least shocking of the weekend. Fantasy owners should know by now not to trust him.
Vikings inactivesMonday 9/8, 5:04 PM CT
The Minnesota Vikings take on the Green Bay Packers in tonight's contest, and the inactive players are kick returner Maurice Hicks, cornerback Marcus McCauley, quarterback John David Booty, safety Madieu Williams, linebacker Erin Henderson, tackle Drew Radovich, fullback Jeff Dugan and defensive tackle Letroy Guion, according to the St. Paul Pioneer-Press.

Our View: Hicks is the team's kick returner, but he is suffering from a foot injury, and the paper speculates that Aundrae Allison will be the returner in his absence.
Simms won't be joining PatriotsMonday 9/8, 4:57 PM CT
Quarterback Chris Simms flew in to meet with the Patriots, but they told him things had changed and they did not need him, so he left without working out for them, as did Tim Rattay, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View: Simms will likely find a job sometime soon, but he couldn't have been pleased with having to make the trip only to be sent home.
Burleson lost for seasonMonday 9/8, 4:40 PM CT
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Nate Burleson's knee injury will cause him to miss the rest of the season.

Our View: Burleson had been primed to have a big year with Seattle already short on receivers. Courtney Taylor may be the best option in Seattle until Deion Branch can return. Logan Payne is worth a look, as well.
Addai shall returnMonday 9/8, 4:23 PM CT
Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy has stated he expects Joseph Addai “to be fine” for next weekend’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, according to PA Sports Ticker.

Our View: This is great news for fantasy owners who took Addai in the first round.
Marten picked up by OaklandMonday 9/8, 4:18 PM CT
Guard James Marten, who was recently waived by the Cowboys, has been picked up by the Oakland Raiders according to the Dallas Morning News. He was a third round selection a year ago.

Our View: Marten was inactive for every game last year as a rookie and was cut last Saturday so the Cowboys could call up receiver Mike Jefferson from the practice squad. It's unlikely he will add any more than depth to the Raiders roster.
Nwaneri will start for JagsMonday 9/8, 4:12 PM CT
With the loss of guard Vince Manuwai for the season, the Jaguars will turn to Uche Nwaneri to fill his role according to Jaguars.com. Nwaneri was a 2007 fifth round selection out of Purdue.

Our View: Nwaneri played on Sunday but didn't get through the game before spraining his knee. He did return and will be expected to fill a big role for Jacksonville the rest of the way. At this point, you can expect a weaker Jags' offense because of this setback.
Grant will share the loadMonday 9/8, 4:04 PM CT
Ryan Grant is expected to split carries with Brandon Jackson on Monday against the Vikings according to ESPN's Wendy Nix. Grant has not participated much in preseason or practices to this point and Jackson has shown well. Coach Mike McCarthy says the running back will be closely watched due to Grant's recurring soreness in his hamstring.

Our View: His opponent, Minnesota, boasts one of the best defenses in the league and due to injuries Grant will run behind an offensive line that includes backups at both guard positions and likely center. Grant will get his share of touches, but don't expect him to be a fantasy stud on Monday night.
Springs returns to practiceMonday 9/8, 3:57 PM CT
The Washington Post reports that cornerback Shawn Springs returned to practice after sitting out the opener because of a bruised shin and "looked good," coach Jim Zorn said. "He was probably 90 percent out there. He had a nice interception today. He looked like he was moving very good on his leg." Springs was injured last week in practice when strong-side linebacker Marcus Washington inadvertently kicked him.

Our View: He'll be busy on Sunday against New Orleans assuming there are no set backs this week. Against Brees and company, the Washington defense does not figure to be a very strong play despite his return.
Kelly returns to 'Skins practiceMonday 9/8, 3:51 PM CT
Malcolm Kelly, who had arthroscopic knee surgery Aug. 4, returned to practice on Monday according to the Washington Post. The rookie receiver sat out the preseason because of hamstring and knee problems, so "he needs the work," an excited Jim Zorn said. "Other guys can get away with just partial practice time, the veterans, but a young player like Malcolm has to be there day in and day out. If he's 100 percent, or even if he's close to 100 percent, he'll get practice reps."

Our View: Well, he's back but don't count on big things from him on Sunday against New Orleans. He'll likely be fourth or fifth on depth chart.
Rookie Thomas injured against JetsMonday 9/8, 3:43 PM CT
The Miami Herald reports that starting rookie right guard, Donald Thomas , is limping with crutches and a protective boot after injuring his foot on Sunday. He is still hoping to practice on Wednesday and be able to play in Week 2, but that may be wishful thinking.

Our View: There's not much experience behind Thomas and the offense could suffer. Listed behind him on the depth chart at right guard is Matt Spanos, an undrafted rookie free agent. Left guard Justin Smiley did some time in San Francisco at right guard after the 49ers signed probable future Hall of Famer Larry Allen late in his career, but prefers to stay on the left.
Williams to miss at least two months Monday 9/8, 3:17 PM CT
Maurice Williams will miss at least two months after rupturing his right biceps, according to the AP.

Our View: Coach Jack Del Rio may decide to place Williams on season-ending IR. The team is already playing without center Brad Meester (right biceps), and lost left guard Vince Manuwai for for entire season due to a torn ACL in his right knee. The team will work out several offensive linemen, including Chris Liwienski, who was waived in late August.
Tatupu nursing thumb injury Monday 9/8, 3:08 PM CT
Lofa Tatupu sustained a right thumb injury in Sunday's loss to Buffalo, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Our View: Tatupu missed the final series of the first half to have his injured thumb examined and padded. We will continue to monitor his status, but he should be ready to play in Week 2 against the 49ers.
Bartel released by Cowboys Monday 9/8, 3:03 PM CT
Richard Bartel has been released from the Cowboys' practice squad, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: The Cowboys signed Brooks Bollinger to be the No. 3 quarterback, which made Bartel expendable.
Spencer expected to practice Monday 9/8, 2:58 PM CT
Anthony Spencer, who had been rehabbing since getting his knee scoped in the preseason, is expected to practice this week, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: There is a chance he can play this weekend against the Eagles. Spencer racked up three sacks and two forced fumbles last season and is expected to see more action in 2008.
Miles slated to practice Monday 9/8, 2:54 PM CT
Miles Austin, who was inactive for Week 1 while recovering from a sprained MCL, is slated to practice this week, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: Austin could practice and there is a chance he may be able to play, after it was previously believed he would miss a few more games.
Manuwai out for season Monday 9/8, 2:46 PM CT
Vince Manuwai has been placed on season-ending IR, according to the Florida Times-Union. He suffered a torn ACL in his right knee Sunday during battle with the Titans.

Our View: Manuwai is a rock solid left guard, and the Jaguars' rushing attack will be weakened by his loss. Center Brad Meester is also injured, as is guard Maurice Williams.
Reid comments on Brown Monday 9/8, 2:33 PM CT
Coach Andy Reid commented on Reggie Brown, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Reid said, "He feels pretty good today. He’s going to continue to rehab and we’ll see how he is once we resume practice on Thursday."

Our View: Brown cannot afford to miss much time, as the team is very impressed with rookie receiver DeSean Jackson following his strong debut in Week 1. Brown could be pushed by Jackson for playing time as a starter this season, assuming Kevin Curtis (last year's leading receiver) bounces back healthy.
Jets auditioning kickers Monday 9/8, 2:19 PM CT
The Jets are auditioning placekickers Jay Feely, Dave Rayner, and Aaron Elling, according to NFL.com.

Our View: Mike Nugent is battling a thigh injury, and the Jets are looking for insurance at the position.
Brady officially placed on IR Monday 9/8, 2:15 PM CT
Tom Brady has officially been placed on IR due to his left knee injury (torn ACL and MCL), according to NFL.com.

Our View: Matt Cassel moves into the starting role at quarterback, and the team is looking for a backup, but coach Bill Belichick disputes the reports that they have brought in anyone for an audition yet.
Stallworth injury update Monday 9/8, 2:08 PM CT
Coach Romeo Crennel believes that Donte Stallworth's injury is "probably more of a quad strain" rather than a groin injury, but his playing status remains uncertain, according to the Browns' official website.

Our View: He will be evaluated further and see what he can handle on Wednesday. Syndric Steptoe and Steve Sanders were forced to fill in and play a prominent role against Dallas with Stallworth (and Joshua Cribbs) out of action, and the Browns' passing attack was compromised as a result. The Browns have a tough match-up in Week 2 against the Steelers.
Harrison climbs receiving list Monday 9/8, 1:59 PM CT
Marvin Harrison caught eight passes for 76 yards against the Bears Sunday night, and his solid effort moved him into fourth on the all-time list in receiving yards (James Lofton had 14,004 yards), according to the Indianapolis Star.

Our View: Harrison now has 14,096 career receiving yards, and has his 2008 campaign off to a solid start. Isaac Bruce is third on the list with 14,109 yards.
Barber to play in pain Monday 9/8, 1:54 PM CT
Marion Barber sustained bruised ribs in Sunday's win over the Browns and Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones said he will have to play with pain for a few weeks, according to the Star-Telegram. Barber said, "I’m good, and could have returned if necessary. It’s all right. Nothing to worry about."

Our View: Barber doesn't appear to be in jeopardy of missing any games, but Dallas could get rookie Felix Jones more involved over the next few weeks to lessen Barber's pain and punishment.
Addai could have returned Monday 9/8, 1:48 PM CT
Joseph Addai suffered a head injury in Sunday's loss to the Bears early in the fourth quarter, but coach Tony Dungy said he had been cleared to return but was held out, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Our View: It was undisclosed as to whether Addai sustained a concussion. We will keep you posted on his status throughout the week.
Williams and Brown to remain even Monday 9/8, 1:34 PM CT
Coach Tony Sparano indicated that Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown could continue to split carries "about evenly" going forward, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Our View: Sparano could not see a scenario where one back would get 25-30 carries, and the other just five. Neither back produced well in Week 1.
Huard is Chiefs' acting starter Monday 9/8, 1:28 PM CT
Damon Huard is the Chiefs' acting starter at quarterback after Brodie Croyle went down with a separated shoulder Sunday against the Patriots, according to the KC Star. Tyler Thigpen is not a threat to push Huard.

Our View: There is no timetable as to when Croyle may be ready to return, and Huard is worth a look as a deep backup in fantasy leagues. He has fared well when given a chance to play, and almost led the Chiefs to a comeback win against New England. A drive in the closing seconds of the game fell just short on the goal-line, as Kansas City lost 17-10.
Thigpen not an option Monday 9/8, 1:21 PM CT
Coach Herman Edwards indicated that Tyler Thigpen is not being considered to replace injured quarterback Brodie Croyle, according to the KC Star. Damon Huard gets the nod as the starter.

Our View: Croyle separated his shoulder during battle with the Patriots Sunday and a timetable for his return is unclear. Thigpen is too prone to turnovers and Damon Huard has stepped up in the past when the club had nowhere else to turn.
Brady update Monday 9/8, 1:12 PM CT
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that Tom Brady has torn his MCL as well as ACL in his left knee.

Our View: As you already likely have heard, Brady is out for the remainder of the 2008 campaign. Matt Cassel will take over as the starting quarterback, and the team is looking at a handful of free agents to serve as the primary backup, including Chris Simms and Tim Rattay.
Bollinger inks with Dallas Monday 9/8, 1:07 PM CT
As expected, Brooks Bollinger has signed with the Cowboys, according to the Dallas Morning News. Receiver Mike Jefferson will be released to make room on the 53-man roster. Bollinger will receive $569,411 for the rest of the season as the prorated portion of the veteran minimum for a sixth-year player ($605,000).

Our View: Bollinger will serve as the No. 3 quarterback behind Tony Romo and Brad Johnson, and holds no fantasy value.
Thomas is No. 2Monday 9/8, 12:31 PM CT
Pierre Thomas seems to be the number two running back in New Orleans, ahead of Deuce McCallister. He led the Saints in yards on Sunday against Tampa Bay with 52 on just 10 carries.

Our View: He outrushed his counterpart Reggie Bush despite four less carries and he should continue to get carries in this fashion until he proves himself unworthy.
Jones could see more playing timeMonday 9/8, 12:26 PM CT
Although Marion Barber says his bruised ribs are "nothing to worry about," owner Jerry Jones says he will play in pain for a few weeks, according to the Dallas Star-Telegram. Felix Jones, who was impressive in Week 1, should see more touches in the meantime.

Our View: Jones had 82 combined yards and a touchdown on nine carries and a kick return against the Browns in Week 1. He is not worth starting yet, but keep an eye on Barber. If he goes down, Felix could prove to be a very valuable running back.
Gaffney plays plenty; produces littleMonday 9/8, 12:21 PM CT
The Boston Globe reports that Jabar Gaffney played more snaps than any other Patriot on Sunday but was held without a catch. He was on the field for 95% of the offensive plays.

Our View: Gaffney may still be worth holding onto in very deep leagues, but with the Patriots likely to run the ball more often due to Tom Brady's injury, his value diminishes. Keep an eye on waiver wire options if you own him.
Flacco earns respectMonday 9/8, 12:14 PM CT
The Baltimore Sun reports that Joe Flacco drew some praise from his Baltimore receivers after his first NFL start. "Joe was unbelievably poised," Mark Clayton said. "For me, I don't consider him a rookie quarterback. He prepared well, and he came out here and he was ready to put us in a position to win the game." Said Derrick Mason, "He is starting to really come into his own right now."

Our View: Flacco's numbers were mediocre from a fantasy standpoint but he performed above expectations. Throw in the five dropped passes and it's understood why he is worth keeping an eye on. Coach Jim Harbaugh has confirmed that he will be the starter for Week 2.
Wallace takes over on punt returns Monday 9/8, 11:45 AM CT
Seneca Wallace took over as the lead punt returner after Nate Burleson went down with a knee injury against Buffalo, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View: If Burleson is unable to play against San Francisco in Week 2, coach Mike Holmgren will have to revisit who to pencil in for the return job, meaning Wallace may not be his choice.
Brooks is questionable for Week 2Monday 9/8, 11:40 AM CT
The status of Derrick Brooks is questionable as of now due to a strained right hamstring, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View: Coach Jon Gruden expects to know more about the extent of Brooks' injury within the next 24 hours. If Brooks cannot go, then Cato June could move to his spot, or Quincy Black could see more playing time.
Garcia will be questionable Monday 9/8, 11:36 AM CT
Jeff Garcia will be questionable for Week 2 due to a sprained ankle, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View: If he cannot go, then Brian Griese would get the call against Atlanta, who looked solid in their win over Detroit.
Stovall to be questionable Monday 9/8, 11:30 AM CT
Maurice Stovall is going to be questionable for Week 2 after straining his neck, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View: Stovall is the Buccaneers' No. 4 receiver and his status should not affect fantasy owners' lineups. He holds most of his value on special teams.
Burleson injury update Monday 9/8, 11:24 AM CT
Nate Burleson sustained a sprained knee on Sunday against Buffalo, but the team does not believe his injury is serious, according to the Seattle Times. Burleson is yet to get the results of his MRI, but coach Mike Holmgren does not believe the injury is "long," referring to recovery time.

Our View: The team cannot afford to lose Burleson as the receiving corps is already thinned out by injuries. We will keep you posted on his status.
Morris' injury not serious? Monday 9/8, 11:17 AM CT
Maurice Morris sustained a sprained right knee during battle with the Bills Sunday, but the injury is not believed to be serious, according to the Seattle Times. The team is still waiting for his MRI results but coach Mike Holmgrem said it does not appear to be a "long" injury, regarding recovery time.

Our View: His status should be updated shortly, following the results of his MRI. If he is forced to miss time, the fantasy value of Juilis Jones will increase.
Bollinger expected to join CowboysMonday 9/8, 10:32 AM CT
Brooks Bollinger is expected to sign with the Cowboys today, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: Bollinger will serve as the No. 3 quarterback. He will provide good depth, but will hold no fantasy value barring injuries.
Lewis comments on ailment Monday 9/8, 10:28 AM CT
Jamal Lewis was a game-time decision for Sunday' opener against Dallas due to a sore hamstring, but he ultimately was able to play and favorably racked up 76 total yards, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. When asked if he felt 100 percent, Lewis responded, "I'll let you know that Monday morning. But right now, I feel great. I ran great. I was kind of hesitant early because it was hurting me a little bit. I wasn't going to miss this game. I wanted to go out there and push it and I did push it. It felt real good. I'm happy with it. Hopefully I'll sleep well tonight."

Our View: This is encouraging news for fantasy owners that drafted Lewis to be a starter. Lewis is among the toughest running backs in the NFL, and will need to display that toughness in Week 2 against the rival Steelers.
Haynesworth plays with concussion Monday 9/8, 9:58 AM CT
Albert Haynesworth played with a concussion in Sunday's tough win over the Jaguars, according to the Tennessean. Haynesworth had two of the Titans' seven sacks but cannot remember most of the game as he said, "I remember the last play of the game and that’s about it."

Our View: The team should cautiously limit him in practice this week, but he should be ready to go Sunday against the Bengals, who performed poorly in a loss to Baltimore.
Payne replaces McGowan Monday 9/8, 9:45 AM CT
Kevin Payne started over Brandon McGowan at strong safety in Sunday's upset win over the Colts, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. McGowan moved to the nickelback role as the No. 3 cornerback.

Our View: Payne only racked up two tackles (both solo) but better production should follow, and he is worthy of taking a shot on in larger IDP leagues.
Albert holds up fine in opener Monday 9/8, 9:32 AM CT
Branden Albert missed the preseason with a foot injury but was able to play every offensive snap in the Chiefs' loss to the Patriots Sunday, and he held up fine, according to the KC Star.

Our View: This is encouraging news for the Chiefs' offense, and namely for fantasy owners who invested in Larry Johnson with a top pick. Brodie Croyle sustained a shoulder injury, but rookie running back Jamaal Charles missed a block and not any of the linemen.
Ryan enjoys solid debut Monday 9/8, 8:56 AM CT
Matt Ryan enjoyed a solid regular season debut with the Falcons in Sunday's win over the Lions, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Ryan completed 9-of-13 passes for 161 yards, with one touchdown and no interceptions. His touchdown pass covered 62 yards (to Michael Jenkins).

Our View: Coach Mike Smith was very pleased with his poise and composure in the pocket and felt he did a good job. He still shouldn't be counted on for fantasy teams, but as of now it appears that Roddy White and the receiving corps' production won't be compromised too much with a rookie quarterback directing the offense.
James reaches 100 Monday 9/8, 8:44 AM CT
Edgerrin James racked up 100 yards on 26 carries in Sunday's win over the 49ers, according to the East Valley Tribune. It was his 56th 100-yard effort of his career, and his seventh as a member of the Cardinals.

Our View: Fantasy owners should be pleased with the solid yardage, despite the fact that rookie Tim Hightower sniped a goal-line touchdown in the game.
Caldwell misses opener Monday 9/8, 8:35 AM CT
Andre Caldwell was listed as doubtful with a toe injury, and was ultimately unable to play in Sunday's opener against the Ravens, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Our View: He was not likely going to make a memorable debut against an intimidating Ravens' defense.
Rivers makes solid impact in debutMonday 9/8, 8:32 AM CT
The Bengals lost to the Ravens, but rookie linebacker Keith Rivers made a strong impact in his regular season debut with 10 tackles (nine solo).

Our View: He should be considered for fantasy lineups in Week 2 against the Titans, and could emerge as a solid weekly starter.
Rucker sporting crutches Monday 9/8, 8:28 AM CT
Frostee Rucker was seen walking on crutches following Sunday's loss to Baltimore, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Our View: No further details regarding his injury were disclosed.
Faulk set to return Monday 9/8, 8:04 AM CT
Kevin Faulk is set to return to the Patriots after serving his one-game suspension for possession of marijuana, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: The team will have to make a move to activate him from the reserve/suspended list. In Faulk's absence, Sammy Morris was the primary receiving back Sunday, catching five passes for 34 yards.
Simms on Chiefs radar Monday 9/8, 7:59 AM CT
Chris Simms is now on the Chiefs' radar after starting quarterback Brodie Croyle sustained a shoulder injury in Sunday's loss to the Patriots, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Damon Huard is the acting starter in Kansas City and rallied the team to a drive Sunday to tie the game that fell just short at the goal-line. Kansas City lost 17-10. With Croyle down, Huard would likely maintain the starting gig with Simms serving as the top backup if he is signed by the club.
Rattay on Patriots' radar? Monday 9/8, 7:53 AM CT
The Patriots are going to bring in free agent quarterback Tim Rattay for an audition after losing Tom Brady (potentially for the season), according to the Boston Globe. The team is also looking at Chris Simms.

Our View: As of now, Matt Cassel is the starting quarterback for the Patriots. Pattay last served with Arizona in 2007, and is purely backup material.
Pitts injures ankle Monday 9/8, 7:46 AM CT
Chester Pitts sustained a sprained ankle in Sunday's loss at Pittsburgh, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Our View: He dealt with this issue previously in training camp, but expects to be ready to play in Week 2 against Baltimore. He is a solid guard, and the Texans cannot afford to lose him, as the club surrendered five sacks to Pittsburgh Sunday.
Slaton receives bulk of carries Monday 9/8, 7:41 AM CT
Steve Slaton received the bulk of the carries in Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Our View: Slaton ran the ball 13 times and Ahman Green only received five carries, but Slaton failed to prove his worth to the club and move closer to the starting gig at running back as he only mustered 43 yards. He also caught three passes, but for only six yards.
Kubiak considered pulling Schaub? Monday 9/8, 7:35 AM CT
Coach Gary Kubiak said he considered pulling Matt Schaub for Sage Rosenfels, but only because Schaub took a hard hit on a sack, which was one of five racked up by the Steelers' defense, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Our View: Schaub completed 25-of-33 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown, but had two interceptions in the 38-17 loss. The Texans don't catch a break with a lighter match-up in Week 2 as they face the imposing Ravens, who shut down the Bengals Sunday.
Kalu optimistic Monday 9/8, 7:28 AM CT
The Texans were hammered by the Steelers on Sunday but defensive end Ndukwe Kalu remains optimistic the club will be successful this season, according to the Houston Chronicle. Kalu said, "The Giants started 0-2 last year and won the Super Bowl. I still feel this is going to be our best season."

Our View: The Texans improved in the off-season, but so did division rivals Tennessee and Jacksonville. Indianapolis is still among the elite teams in the NFL as well, despite Sunday's loss to the Bears.
Bulger comments on Holt Monday 9/8, 7:19 AM CT
Marc Bulger commented on Torry Holt, who only caught one pass in Sunday's 38-3 loss to the Eagles, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Bulger said, "They doubled him a lot and singled up our (flanker) a lot. And once Drew got hurt, they stayed in that."

Our View: Bulger admitted that he should have checked down the ball more to running back Steven Jackson to counteract the Eagles' coverage. Drew Bennett is slated for an MRI today to determine the extent of his left foot injury. The team is already feeling the loss of Isaac Bruce.
Little scheduled for MRI Monday 9/8, 7:12 AM CT
Leonard Little is scheduled for an MRI today after sustaining a hamstring injury in Sunday's loss at Philadelphia, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: He noted that the injury is something he is going to have to manage and is hopeful to return in Week 2 against the defending champion Giants.
Bennett injury update Monday 9/8, 7:09 AM CT
Drew Bennett sustained a left foot injury in Sunday's loss to the Eagles, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Bennett said, "My toe got caught in a strange spot. All the pressure of the tackle came down on my knee and on my foot, and my foot just gave a little bit."

Our View: Bennett is scheduled for an MRI today, and team doctors told Bennett there's the possibility of some tendon (or plantar fascia) damage.
Pace did not injure shoulder Monday 9/8, 7:05 AM CT
The Rams state that Orlando Pace did not injure his surgically repaired shoulder in Sunday's loss to the Eagles, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He headed to the sideline in the fourth quarter, but merely sustained a shot to the ribs and coach Scott Linehan said, "He got the wind knocked out of him pretty good. But it didn't have anything to do with the shoulder."

Our View: The team can rest a bit easier now that Pace is fine, but have a lot of work to do this week to get ready for the Giants as they failed to reach the end zone at Philadelphia and only mustered one field goal.
