Clowe nets another oneSunday 4/13, 11:56 PM CT
Ryane Clowe scored his third goal in as many games when he netted a first period shot against the Flames on Sunday night. The forward had only three goals during the regular season but now has five points in the playoffs.

Our View: The physical Clowe seems to reserve his best work for the playoffs.
Dubinsky scores twiceSunday 4/13, 10:46 PM CT
Brandon Dubinsky scored two goals in Sunday's playoff loss to the Devils. It was the first time the rookie ever scored two goals in an NHL game.

Our View: The 21-year-old forward could use a nice postseason to push his fantasy value up heading into the 2008-09 campaign.
Parise puts one inSunday 4/13, 10:43 PM CT
Zach Parise netted second period goal in Sunday's win over the Rangers. The Devils' top scorer had been kept off the board in the first two games of the series.

Our View: Parise's numbers slowed down after the All-Star break, and we'd love to see him have a good run in the playoffs.
Avery makes it three-for-threeSunday 4/13, 10:40 PM CT
Sean Avery is on a roll. He scored his third goal in as many playoff games on Sunday.

Our View: Avery is more known for penalty minutes than goals, but maybe he's developing a taste for putting the puck in the net.
Madden nets game-winnerSunday 4/13, 10:37 PM CT
It wasn't pretty, but John Madden will take it. The Devils center netted the game-winning overtime goal against the Rangers on Sunday and helped his club climb back into the series. "I’m not going to lie. It was a lot of luck," Madden admits to the AP. His shot went off the foot of defenseman Marc Staal.

Our View: Madden scored a career-high 43 points this season and added a goal in Game 2. Still, he doesn't very much fantasy value.
Thomas earns winSunday 4/13, 10:34 PM CT
Tim Thomas picked up the first playoff win of his career by stopping 27-of-28 shots on Sunday.

Our View: Thomas is playing well this month, and he'll need to keep if up in the Bruins have any hope of getting past the Canadiens.
Kostopoulos scores againSunday 4/13, 10:31 PM CT
Tom Kostopoulos scored another goal in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Bruins. It's his second of the series and his fourth goal in the last nine games overall.

Our View: Kostopoulos has picked a good time to be on-mark with his shots. He still has no fantasy value, though.
Carter gets on the boardSunday 4/13, 10:27 PM CT
Jeff Carter netted a first period goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Capitals.

Our View: Carter scores a career-high 29 goals in the regular season, and he's not afraid to put the puck on net. We feel like he may have another tier to climb and a strong playoff run could generate fantasy value for 2008-09.
Savard keeps Bruins in seriesSunday 4/13, 10:23 PM CT
Thanks to Marc Savard, the Bruins are still alive. The veteran center netted an overtime goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Canadiens. The Bruins are down 2-1 in the series.

Our View: It should come as no surprise that the Bruins top scorer delivered when the team most needed it. Savard's numbers were down this season, but he remains an excellent fantasy commodity.
Umberger nets goalSunday 4/13, 10:18 PM CT
R.J. Umberger netted an early goal in Sunday's 2-0 playoff win over the Capitals.

Our View: The 25-year-old center scored only 13 times all season but did have a career-high 50 points. With a little step forward, Umberger could turn into a quite useful fantasy guy next season.
Schultz able to playSunday 4/13, 10:13 PM CT
Jeff Schultz was able to play on Sunday after missing the opening game against the Flyers due to an undisclosed injury.

Our View: Schultz isn't much of a fantasy factor, but he's still only 22. Maybe the playoff experience will spur him on to bigger and better numbers.
Biron shuts out CapitalsSunday 4/13, 10:10 PM CT
Martin Biron stopped all 24 of the Caps shots on Sunday and helped even the series at 1-1. It was Biron's third shutout in the last four games, dating back into the regular season.

Our View: We all know what a hot goalie can do for a team in the playoffs.
Spezza injured, status unknownSunday 4/13, 12:23 PM CT
Ottawa center Jason Spezza may not be available for action in Game 3 of the Senators’ playoff series with the Pittsburgh Penguins, according to Sportsnet.ca.

Our View: Senators GM and head coach Bryan Murray told reporters Sunday morning the center suffered an undisclosed leg injury in the first period on Friday night, and while Spezza returned to the ice after a brief visit to the training room, the team has doubts about his health moving forward and will put Spezza through various tests this weekend. As a result, Spezza’s status will not be officially announced until Monday.
