Updating an earlier report, the Detroit Red Wings will in fact go with Chris Osgood in net in Game 5, this according to the AP. “Ozzie has an opportunity,” HC Mike Babcock said Thursday. “We’ll see what he does with it.”

Our View: Osgood played second fiddle to Dominik Hasek this year, but the truth is that it was Osgood, not Hasek, who led the NHL with a 2.09 GAA (Hasek was third at 2.14). The Wings need a spark and they will turn to Osgood to provide it.

Cristobal Huet will be in net for Game 4 for the Caps even after struggling the past two games, this according to the South Jersey Courier.

Our View: After his great run to get the team into the playoffs, it seems a bit odd that people are calling for a change now. Huet has been a step below average with a .884 SV% and 3.70 GAA, but we have to think that he gives the team a better chance to win than Olaf Kolzig.

Phil Kessel may return to action tonight, according to The Boston Globe. Kessel notably assisted on Boston's only goal in Game 1, but was a healthy scratch the last three games. He sat because the team wanted more grit to battle Montreal, but now they need to shake up the offense.
