Penguins changing lines for Stanley Cup FinalsSunday 5/25, 8:01 PM CT
It appears the Pittsburgh Penguins will be making changes, hopeful of enticing different results in their Stanley Cup Finals matchup against the Detroit Red Wings, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Penguins coach Michel Therrien had his team hit the ice on Sunday with all-new lines in an effort to encourage a cohesive, team approach. Ryan Malone has replaced Pascal Dupuis on Sidney Crosby's line, moving to play with Jordan Staal. Veteran forward Gary Roberts will also be seeing more ice time. The Pens have struggled to work past future Hall-of-Fame defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom and Chris Chelios, and these changes may encourage a different approach.
Roberts expected to replace LaraqueSunday 5/25, 1:56 PM CT
Gary Roberts is expected to replace Georges Laraque on the fourth-line for Game 2 against Detroit, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Larague will likely be a healthy scratch.

Our View: Coach Michel Therrien didn't want to tamper with a hot Penguins' lineup, but he has now decided to get Roberts back into the mix following their 4-0 loss to the Red Wings in Game 1.
Malone moved to first-lineSunday 5/25, 1:51 PM CT
Ryan Malone has been moved up to the first-line with Sidney Crosby and Marian Hossa, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Pascal Dupuis has been dropped from the first-line to the third.

Our View: Dupuis failed to make an impact on the first-line, and Malone is playing well with six goals and nine assists through the playoffs. Pittsburgh trails Detroit 1-0 in the Stanley Cup Finals, and coach Michel Therrien decided to alter the lines for Game 2.
Dupuis dropped to third line Sunday 5/25, 1:46 PM CT
Pascal Dupuis has been dropped from the first-line to the third, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Ryan Malone will replace him on the first-line.

Our View: Dupuis only has two goals and four assists through the playoffs, and Malone has six goals and nine assists. Pittsburgh trails Detroit 1-0 in the Stanley Cup Finals, and Coach Michel Therrien decided he needed to revamp the lines.
Franzen might play Monday? Sunday 5/25, 1:38 PM CT
Johan Franzen practiced again Sunday, will do so again on Monday morning, and could be back in the Red Wings' lineup for Game 2 on Monday night, according to the Detroit News. Franzen said, "We'll make a decision tomorrow. I was hoping to get hit, but didn't get any. I was hoping Darren McCarty would hit me. It's better, I don't feel anything anymore. It's good. There will be so much adrenaline, it doesn't matter what shape you're in."

Our View: Franzen hasn't played since persistent headaches forced him out of the lineup before Game 2 against Dallas in the Western Conference finals, but he is finally closing in on his return to the ice. Franzen's 12 goals ties him with team-mate Henrik Zetterberg atop the playoff leaders.
Chelios not likely for Game 2 Sunday 5/25, 10:50 AM CT
Chris Chelios is not likely to play in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals against Pittsburgh, according to the Detroit News. The aging enforcer is nursing a knee injury and Coach Mike Babcock said, "All we're doing today is, we won the last game and we're not changing the lineup. The bottom line with Cheli is, we have a lot of respect for his ability and what he brings to this team. But this isn't about Cheli, it's not about me, it's about the Detroit Red Wings and winning."

Our View: Andreas Lilja replaced Chelios in the lineup for Game 1, and looks to do the same in Game 2, even though Chelios says he is healthy.
Zetterberg scores 12th goal Sunday 5/25, 7:08 AM CT
Henrik Zetterberg scored his 12th goal of the playoffs in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Penguins in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Our View: Zetterberg now has 22 points (10 assists) over 17 games in the playoffs this season. He should remain a steady source of production for the Red Wings in the finals, and is off to a solid start in Game 1.
