Bruins trade Sigalet to ColumbusTuesday 5/27, 6:37 PM CT
The Boston Bruins have completed a trade sending defenseman Jonathan Sigalet to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Matt Marquardt, according to the Providence Journal.

Our View: Sigalet saw action in 74 regular-season games for the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League) in 2007-08 and notched 3 goals, 20 assists and a +20 plus/minus rating. In three seasons with Providence, he appeared in 199 regular-season games, registering 81 points on 21 goals and 60 assists. Sigalet's only NHL appearance came on Jan. 9, 2007 with Boston in a game at Ottawa. He was drafted by the Bruins in the fourth round, 100th overall, in the 2005 draft. Marquardt, who will turn 21 on July 19, scored 43 goals and 26 assists in 68 games during the 2007-08 season, which he split between Baie-Comeau Drakkar and the Moncton Wildcats, both of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Marquardt was originally selected by the Blue Jackets in the seventh round, 194th overall, in the 2006 draft but had not signed with Columbus.
Capitals resign Bradley Tuesday 5/27, 2:33 PM CT
Right wing Matt Bradley has been resigned to the Capitals with a three-year deal, according to the Miami Herald. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View: Bradley completed his third campaign with the Capitals in 2007-08, finishing the year with seven goals and 11 assists over 77 games, with two game-winning goals to his credit. He also contributed a pair of assists in seven playoff games during a first-round loss to the Flyers.
Gistedt signedTuesday 5/27, 11:49 AM CT
The Coyotes signed Joel Gistedt to an entry-level contract on Monday night, the Arizona Republic reports. The 20-year-old goalie was a second-round pick in the 2007 draft.

Our View: Ilya Bryzgalov signed a three-year extension in January, so the Coyotes are in no hurry to push Gistedt.
Penguins accuse Osgood of diving?Tuesday 5/27, 7:55 AM CT
After being shutout for the second straight game in the Stanley Cup Finals, the Penguins have unleashed some unsavory comments, according to FanNation.com. Coach Michel Therrien namely blasted Chris Osgood, as Therrien said, "We took two penalties tonight on the goalie. We never take penalty to the goalie in the playoff. I'll tell you something, I reviewed those plays. He's a good actor. He goes to players, and he's diving. I know our players are frustrated right now. It's tough to play the game. But Osgood did the same thing against Dallas under Mike Ribeiro. Osgood remarked, "I've been called worse. I'm not really concerned about it right now. The minute the buzzer goes, it's out of my head."

Our View: Detroit has outscored Pittsburgh 7-0 over the two games in the series, and the Penguins are just venting out some frustration.
Franzen played, chipped in assistTuesday 5/27, 7:02 AM CT
Johan Franzen returned to the ice on Monday, and chipped in an assist in Detroit's 3-0 win over Pittsburgh in Game 2. The Red Wings now lead the series 2-0, and the Penguins are yet to score a goal.

Our View: That was his first appearance since May 8, and he now has 15 points over 12 playoff games.
