Frazen scores 13 in postseasonFriday 6/6, 2:59 PM CT
Johan Franzen was arguably the biggest performer in the Red Wings championship run. A 27-goal scorer during the regular-season, Franzen exploded with 13 goals in 16 postseason contests.

Our View: Franzen had 12 of those in Detroit's first 11 playoff games. Could the postseason launch the center into fantasy stardom next year?
Lidstrom makes hockey historyFriday 6/6, 2:51 PM CT
Nicklas Lidstrom made hockey history becoming the first European captain to hoist the Stanley Cup. Lidstrom is one of seven Red Wings regulars from Sweden.

Our View: Lidstrom had 13 points and his plus-minus rating was among the league leaders in the playoffs. He had a plus-40 rating during the regular season. He is also under contract to return to Detroit next year, as are the other Swedes.
Jagr being courted by RussiansFriday 6/6, 12:22 PM CT
According to the New York Daily News, Jaromir Jagr is being heavily courted by Anatoli Bardin, the GM of the Omsk-Avangard team in Russia. Jagr appears to be waiting for is some sort of comparable affection from Rangers GM Glen Sather according to the report. Jagr told the Daily News again Thursday that his first choice is to return to the Rangers for next season but he is not sure whether the feeling is mutual.

Our View: Jagr, 36, just returned to New York from a vacation in Mexico according to the paper and whether he will return is still a question mark.
Osgood is the manFriday 6/6, 12:18 PM CT
The Red Wings' six-game series win over the Penguins was reason to liven up the dismal economic climate in Detroit. The city had a parade for their hockey town hero's. The team set a record with 30 wins in the first half of the season, matching Montreal's record with 100 points for the eighth straight year, and extended the longest active streak in sports with its 17th straight post-season appearance. Chris Osgood , who signed a longterm contract during the season will return as the main netminder, something he shared with Dominik Hasek earlier in the 2007-08 campaign.

Our View: Detroit's key players are under contract for at least next season, leaving only a handful of decisions to make in the off-season.
