Flames sign RoySunday 7/20, 10:08 PM CT
The Calgary Flames have signed forward Andre Roy , according to the Miami Herald.

Our View: The 33-year-old spent last season with Tampa Bay and in 63 games he scored four goals and added three assists. Over 10 seasons in the NHL, which included stops with Boston, Ottawa and Pittsburgh, he has recorded 32 goals and 33 assists in 471 contests.
Veilleux signs with Wild Sunday 7/20, 11:12 AM CT
Stephane Veilleux has signed a one-year deal with the Wild worth $737,500, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View: The signing allows the Wild to avoid a Monday arbitration date with Veilleux, who passed through waivers Thursday. Veilleux can become an unrestricted free agent next summer if not re-signed before July 1. He registered a career-high 11 goals last season with the club, but isn't expected to improve enough next season to make him fantasy worthy.
Osgood healthy and in good spiritsSunday 7/20, 9:21 AM CT
Chris Osgood is healthy and in good spirits heading into next season, according to the Detroit Free Press. He commented on turning 35, "Guys think when you turn 35, it’s old. I don’t feel like it though. You actually feel better, more mature and smarter. When you turn 35, and if you’re in shape and you feel good, I think you’re probably a better player than when you were younger, even 30."

Our View: His recently signed extension won't expire until he turns 38, and he feels good right now and happy to continue his career with the Red Wings. He should remain a favorable option as a number two fantasy goalie for 2008-09.
