Chris Clark, the captain of the Washington Capitals said he has had no setbacks from his groin injury that cost him most of last year, and he will be ready for training camp, according to the Washington Post.

Our View: Clark scored 30 goals in 2006-2007, and if he can maintain his health, he could be a useful fantasy player this season.
Clowe signs with SharksMonday 8/4, 5:19 PM CT
Ryane Clowe has re-signed with the San Jose Sharks, according to TSN.com. The deal is for one year.

Our View: Clowe lead the team in goals during the playoffs, and TSN reports that he has 44 points in 91 career NHL games. At age 25, Clowe is a bit of a sleeper for fantasy players, as he could rack up a decent amount of points should he stay healthy.
McCrimmon joins Detroit Monday 8/4, 12:27 PM CT
Former defenseman Brad McCrimmon has signed a three-year deal with the Red Wings to serve as an assistant coach, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Our View: McCrimmon spent four seasons as an assistant coach in Atlanta and previously was on coaching staffs with Calgary and the New York Islanders. He played 18 seasons in the NHL, including three seasons in Detroit in the early 1990's.
Siddall inks with Atlanta Monday 8/4, 10:31 AM CT
Matt Siddall has agreed to terms on a multi-year contract, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Specific terms were not disclosed.

Our View: Siddall was selected in the ninth round of the 2004 draft. He scored 36 points (18 goals) over 41 games at Northern Michigan during his senior year. There are vacant spots on the wings in Atlanta, and he could challenge for a spot next season.
Stamkos praised Monday 8/4, 10:08 AM CT
Brian Lawton praised Steven Stamkos during prospect camp, according to the St. Petersburg Times. Lawton said, "He was tremendous the entire week. He worked hard, is a very humble young man. He really fit in with his teammates out here and made a great impression on everyone, as a player and as a person."

Our View: The 18-year-old center was considered by many to be the best prospect in the 2008 draft, and is off to a good start with the Lightning.
