Hill to play in Switzerland

Sean Hill will leave the Wild and the NHL to play in Switzerland, according to TSN. The defenseman inked a one-year contract with Swiss club Biel. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View: The 38-year-old Hill played 876 regular-season games in the NHL, ending last season in his home state with the Minnesota Wild.

Gelinas not likely to re-sign?

Martin Gelinas is not likely to re-sign with the Predators, according to the Tennessean. GM David Poile said, "I wish we had a position for him because he's good as a fourth-line guy, with penalty-killing and leadership. But right now we have those guys. You never say never, but it's a long shot."

Our View: The Predators like his leadership qualities, but don't presently see a spot on the roster for him.

Hlavac joins Swedish Elite League

Jan Hlavac has left the Predators and the NHL to join Linkopink of the Swedish Elite League, according to the Tennessean.

Our View: The Predators offered him a one-year deal, but at less money than he felt he was worth. He only scored 12 goals and 23 assists over 80 games last season, and was not going to be fantasy worthy if he re-signed with Nashville.
