Teppo Numminen, who played only one game last season because of heart surgery, has re-signed with the Sabres on a one year, $1.1 million deal, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Numminen, a 40 year old defensemen, has long been a reliable defender, though no longer one who is fantasy relevant. Take stock of how her performs in the preseason before you even consider rostering him this year.
Pelletier signs with ChicagoFriday 8/8, 4:19 PM CT
Pascal Pelletier singed a 1-year contract on Friday to remain with the Blackhawks organization, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: Pelletier played six games last year in Boston before being traded to Chicago in late July. He offers little fantasy value even though he has scored 71 goals in 206 games at the AHL level.

Tyler Bouck has been signed to an undisclosed contract by the Sabres, according to TSN.

Our View: The 28-year-old notched 11 goals, 18 assists and 86 penalty minutes over 79 games while working as the captain of the Portland Pirates of the AHL last season. The former second-round pick of the Stars (1998) has only recorded four goals and eight assists over 91 career games with the Canucks. He is not expected to make an impact with the Sabres next season.

That's the opportunity we'll give him. He said he plans to come in early and work out with the guys. He has the right mind-set."

Our View: O'Neill did not play in the NHL last season, and announced his retirement in 2007 after spending two seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs. In his last campaign with Toronto in 2006-07, O'Neill racked up 20 goals and 22 assists over 74 games.
Panthers sign Sprukts Friday 8/8, 12:45 PM CT

Panthers' GM Jacques Martin said, "We are happy that Janis has decided to return to the Panthers organization after spending a year in Finland. He has played a few games at the NHL level and understands what it takes to make it back there."
