Love III falls on back 9

Davis Love III was in line for his first top-10 finish on the PGA TOUR since last August. However, the five-time Harbour Town Champ stroked a +6 (41) on the back nine.

Our View: Love III finished at T36. However, at this point it would be fair to note the tourney should be marked as a success for L3. He's struggled just to make cuts this season, missing three cuts over his first six starts. It would have been a major surge to finish in the top 10 at the Heritage, but fans should be happy to see Davis being competitive.

Weekley repeats as Verizon Heritage champion

In an event about as rare as any on the PGA Tour, Boo Weekley emerged victorious at this week's Verizon Heritage in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Weekley shot even par on Sunday to finish with a three-stroke victory over Anthony Kim and Aaron Baddeley, winning the same tourney that served as his arrival in the PGA last season as the 2007 Heritage champion.

Our View: Weekley's consecutive wins at the Heritage are the first since Davis Love III completed the feat in 1991-92. His final round was his worst of the tourney, shooting 69 on Thursday, an amazing 64 on Friday, and 65 on Saturday.
