Woods using crutches but is puttingTuesday 4/22, 6:42 PM CT
Reporters confirmed Tiger Woods was using crutches to get around at his charity event last weekend (Tiger Jam XI), but Woods reports he does not always need them to walk and has used this time to dedicate specific workouts on his putting, according to USA Today.

Our View: Woods underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on April 14th and does not intend to consider a return to action until mid-May. He has expressed interest in attending the Players Championship but the scheduling suggests he is much more likely to miss that as he rehabs and works towards the US Open.
Mickelson to play at Wachovia?Tuesday 4/22, 6:38 PM CT
Phil Mickelson has told reporters he has committed to join the field at this year's Wachovia Championship, though failure to include this list on the seasonal plan on his official website leaves speculation, according to USA Today.

Our View: The discrepancy leaves questions for fantasy owners hoping to see Lefty as often as possible, and in season's past, Mickelson has held strong scheduling and been one of few top dogs to make regular appearances between majors. We will have to wait and see on this one as most of the elite golfers are going to be sitting until the Players Championship.
Harrington out until Players ChampionshipTuesday 4/22, 6:34 PM CT
Padraig Harrington will not be a member of the field at any PGA events until this year's Players Championship, according to reports from his official website.

Our View: Harrington reports that he intends to play in the Irish Open on May 15th, thus the Players will be his only PGA stop until the US Open.
Beckman withdraws from Byron NelsonTuesday 4/22, 6:17 PM CT
Cameron Beckman has withdrawn from the Byron Nelson Championship.

Our View: Beckman cited illness as his reason for withdrawing from the Verizon Heritage last week and it appears the bug is still eating at him. He will be replaced by Paul Stankowski.
Kaye missing Byron Nelson with illnessTuesday 4/22, 6:17 PM CT
To the surprise of many, Jonathan Kaye has not enlisted to play at this week's Byron Nelson Championship.

Our View: According to his representatives, Kaye is battling illness and is not falling to an injured toe as speculated. Once he is healthy, according to his representatives, he plans to jump back into the Tour with full force and travel to as many tourneys as he can fit into his sanity. Kaye is playing on a medical exemption and needs to earn $759,700 this season to retain Tour privileges.
Waldorf out with knee surgeryTuesday 4/22, 6:15 PM CT
Duffy Waldorf reports he will be missing action for some time as he has scheduled knee surgery in the coming weeks (the date and reason for surgery were not given).

Our View: Waldorf has reportedly beens struggling with the knee for some time and his doctors feel the time is right to make this move and go under the knife. The Tour has granted him a medical exemption into 2009, a nice luxury but one that will force him to classification as a Q School/Nationwide Tour grad.
