Woods schedule remains in question

In the continued saga that is the quickly becoming the daily headline of the PGA, Tiger Woods has expressed concern over return for any tourney before the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, according to the LA Times.

Our View: Woods has already stated he will not be attending the Wachovia Championship next week and has suggested his presence at the Players Championship seems doubtful as well. However, no official changes have been made to his schedule on his official website. The reporter from the LA Times reports Woods has suggested the typically wet and rainy weather at the Memorial is likely to deter his desire to play there as well, though that is the historical start Woods will make (two weeks from the major) to prepare for the U.S. Open. Sim needs high finish for PGA status

With only one tourney left to use on his medical extension, golfer Michael Sim needs to earn $332,446 at this week's EDS Byron Nelson Championship to earn regular PGA status for the rest of the season.

Our View: Sims has other "options" as well. Coming in at 28th place will net Sim $46,463 and will qualify him for conditional status, but that will not give him full PGA status. He needs to finish in 3rd place or better, or back to the Nationwide Tour it will be.
