Scott retains lead at the Byron NelsonSaturday 4/26, 9:06 PM CT
Adam Scott is in position for his fist win of the 2008 PGA season, enjoying three solid sub-70 rounds at this week's Byron Nelson Championship. Scott opened the tourney with a 68 (-2) and has gone 67 (-3) in each of the last two days, giving him an overall score of -8 for the tourney.

Our View: Four other golfers reside at -5 and will need stellar efforts to make an attempt to catch Scott, possessing five cuts made in six PGA starts with two top-10 finishes. However, Scott has not taken a PGA win home since the Shell Houston Open of last season. He is now one round away from ending that streak and reaffirming his place as one of golf's elite.
Hoffman three strokes off the leadSaturday 4/26, 9:04 PM CT
Charley Hoffman, ranked at on the PGA Money Leaders list entering the week, is in position to enjoy his second consecutive top-10 finish of the '08 PGA season. Hoffman is one of just two golfer entering Sunday with three rounds recorded under par, posting a consistent 69, 68, and 68 respectively through the first three days of competition at this week's Byron Nelson, entering Sunday at -5 for the tourney, just three strokes back of the lead.

Our View: Heading into April, Hoffman has suffered eight consecutive missed cuts. He then hit the Shell Houston Open and finished at T6 (-12), and now he is in position to compete for an oversized check in Dallas.
Bryant has Scott in view at the Byron NelsonSaturday 4/26, 8:01 PM CT
Veteran Bart Bryant is making a push as one of few golfers in position to challenge leader Adam Scott for the title at this week's Byron Nelson Championship. Bryant shot a 72 (+2) on Thursday to start in a bit of a hole, but he followed with a strong 66 (-4) on Saturday and brought another quality round to the links on Saturday, going 67 (-3) to bring his overall score to -5 for the tourney. Bryant is one of four golfers sharing a portion of 2nd place, all three strokes off the lead.

Our View: Bryant has already suffered one troubling loss at the hands of Tiger Woods this season (remember that amazing 25' putt on the 18th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational). If Bryant can stay consistent on Sunday, he should be in the mix for a big pay day once more.
Garcia makes big move at Byron NelsonSaturday 4/26, 8:00 PM CT
Sergio Garcia was the top mover of the day at this week's Byron Nelson Championship. Garcia brought quality golf to the tourney in the first days of competition, posting a 71 (+1) on Thursday and 70 (E) on Friday. However, the man who has struggled with golfing woes all season long has made a dramatic leap up the board, posting a tourney-best 65 (-5) on Saturday to bring his overall score to -4. Garcia started the day at T33 and is now sharing a portion of 6th place on the leaderboard, four strokes off the lead.

Our View: Garcia has missed just one cut in six PGA starts this season, but he has yet to finish among the top 10. The bulk of his struggles have come before the weekend, so it wouldn't be shocking at all to see Garcia make a charge on Sunday.
Watney holds steady at Byron NelsonSaturday 4/26, 7:58 PM CT
Nick Watney's 75 on Thursday certainly suggested a missed cut might be on tap at this week's Byron Nelson Championship, but he has since reversed his fortunes and is now fighting for a spot on the top of the final leadeboard.

Our View: Watney's +5 on Thursday has been followed by a score of 68 on both Friday and Saturday, bringing him to +1 overall, placing him at T28 as the golfers in Dallas enter the final day of competition.
Kim showing well at the Byron NelsonSaturday 4/26, 7:57 PM CT
Anthony Kim , one of the Tour's best young talents of the season, has enjoyed a strong performance on Saturday to make a charge for better position on the leaderboard at this week's Byron Nelson Championship. Kim started rough with a 73 (+3) on Thursday. However, he has steadily improved since, shooting 70 (E) on Friday to make the cut and then improving again on Saturday, posting a 68 (-2) to bring his overall score to +1 for the tourney, good for T28 on the leaderboard heading into the final day of competition.

Our View: Kim started Saturday at T60, a magnificent performance on a day when many struggled to get away from par. Kim finished 2nd at the Verizon Heritage last week and hopes to finish strong here in Dallas.
Marino improves at the Byron NelsonSaturday 4/26, 7:56 PM CT
Stephen Marino is coming into positive scores as this week's Byron Nelson Championship moves along. Marino needed a charge on Friday to make his 12th cut of the season, and his improvements continued on Saturday, shooting 70 (E) on the day to bring his overall score to +1 for the tourney, good for T28 on the leaderboard.

Our View: Marino has missed just one cut this season and relied heavily on a stellar short game and putting to get the job done. The additional length at at the TPC Four Seasons this year may be a challenge, but it looks like Marino is starting to figure it out.
Leonard suffers drastic fall at Byron NelsonSaturday 4/26, 6:51 PM CT
Justin Leonard took a turn for the worse today, all but ruining what had been a great stride forward at this week's Byron Nelson Championship. Leonard entered the day at T5, just two strokes back of the lead. However, he posted a worrisome 74 (+4) today to bring his overall score to +1 for the tourney, now sitting at T28 on the leaderboard.

Our View: It is disappointing but matches the recent trend of failure Leonard has endured after a magnificent start. Fantasy owners should beware his service looking forward, for what was once a funk of bad luck is now turning into a trend that can't be denied.
Poulter finding frustration at the Byron NelsonSaturday 4/26, 6:50 PM CT
Ian Poulter continues to struggle for scores in the red at this week's Byron Nelson Championship. Poulter shot 68 on Thursday (-2), but has since posted a score of 73 (+3) on Friday and 71 (+1) today.

Our View: Poulter is one of the top golfers in the world, but his PGA starts have been disappointing (T48, T57, T25). It appears this week will be no different.
Verplank falling at Byron NelsonSaturday 4/26, 6:49 PM CT
Scott Verplank , the defending champion at this year's Byron Nelson Championship, threw a disappointing 73 on the scorecard today to fall from T33 to T56 on the leadeboard.

Our View: Verplank has long enjoyed these visit to the tourney that bears the name of a man he's called idol and friend, having grown up with Nelson in his life. However, making the cut is one honor he has struggled to enjoy in recent weeks, this being only his third cut made in his last six tourneys.
Ogilvie goes +9 on SaturdaySaturday 4/26, 6:48 PM CT
Joe Ogilvie suffered through a horrendous day on the course at this week's Byron Nelson Championship, shooting +9 (79) to fall from T15 to T72 for the tourney.

Our View: Ogilvie has been one of the more volatile duffers on the tour this season, making just six cut in 10 PGA tourney starts. However, he also boasts two top-10 finishes. Today's round shows those demons can come to haunt during the same week, shooting 69 on Friday only to add 10 strokes today.
Leonard two strokes off the leadSaturday 4/26, 9:37 AM CT
Justin Leonard enters the weekend at this week's Byron Nelson Championship at -3 after two days of competition, just two strokes off the lead (held by Adam Scott).

Our View: This is the best start Leonard has put forth in a PGA event since February as Leonard has struggled to battle for a top-20 finish since. He's more reliable than any other player on the Tour when it comes to cuts made, but it now appears he is ready to take the charge and battle for a win.
Scott enters the weekend in 1stSaturday 4/26, 9:34 AM CT
Adam Scott enters the weekend rounds at this week's Byron Nelson Championship in sole possession of first place, stroking a score of 68 (-2) on Thursday and 67 (-3) on Friday to hit cut day at -5 overall.

Our View: Scott may be well respected as a top dog on the Tour, but he has just one top-10 finish in five PGA starts. He adds one withdrawal to that list and also touts two top-20 finishes, but a win would, at the very least, solidify the high expectations that have yet to be fulfilled this season.
O'Hair misses the cut by Saturday 4/26, 12:51 AM CT
Sean O'Hair has missed the cut at this week's Byron Nelson and will be missing from weekend action as a result.

Our View: This is a heart breaker for O'Hair, missing the cut by one stroke after shooting a beautiful 69 on Thursday to finish at 75 on Friday and fall just out of the mix for weekend play. This is only his fourth missed cut in 12 PGA starts, but it is his second since The Masters (and that was just two weeks ago).
Sabbatini out of weekend competitionSaturday 4/26, 12:40 AM CT
Rory Sabbatini has missed the cut at this week's Byron Nelson Championship.

Our View: Sabbatini appeared to be on the rise once again with a strong start to the season, but this is his second consecutive missed cut in what may be his last American outing until the US Open.
Wetterich misses cutSaturday 4/26, 12:36 AM CT
Brett Wetterich has been cut from action at this week's Byron Nelson Championship.

Our View: Wetterich has struggled to get on track this season due to injury, now sporting three missed cuts in seven tourneys.
Saturday 4/26, 12:31 AM CT
Daniel Chopra has missed the cut at this week's Byron Nelson Championship.

Our View: Chopra started the season with a hot hand, winning the Mercedes-Benz Championship, but has since gone cold. This is his third missed cut in his last six tourneys.
Daly misses cutSaturday 4/26, 12:25 AM CT
John Daly has missed the cut to play over the weekend at this week's Byron Nelson Championship.

Our View: Having Daly on the field was a bit shocking to say the least, recovering from minor stomach surgery. This gives Daly three missed cuts over his last four tourneys
Immelman misses cut at Byron NelsonSaturday 4/26, 12:20 AM CT
Trevor Immelman has failed to make the weekend cut at this week's Byron Nelson Championship.

Our View: Immelman may be coming off a fantastic win at The Masters, but shooting 78 on Thursday all but ended his play in Dallas this weekend. This is Immelman's fifth missed cut in 11 PGA starts.
