Matteson arrested for DUI

Troy Matteson was arrested on April 17th for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Our View: Matteson makes his home in Alpharetta, Georgia and was arrested the same week as his local PGA stop at the Verizon Heritage. Matteson failed to attend the event and has taken part in just two PGA tourneys since (missed cut that Byron Nelson, T49 at last week's Wachovia Championship). He is a member of the field at this week's PLAYERS Championship, his second career start at the event, and will be arraigned on all charges on July 9th.

Appleby had surgery, but is recovered and well

Stuart Appleby reports he has undergone minor surgery to repair torn meniscus in his right knee and is now free and clear of pain.

Our View: Appleby suffered the injury two weeks prior to The Masters, but played through the pain for those two weeks and then traveled to Australia to have the procedure performed. Appleby returned to play for the first time last week at the Wachovia Championship (missing the cut), but he says he is doing just fine and expects to be free of pain during this week's visit to THE PLAYERS Championship.
