Gore continues to struggleSunday 5/11, 10:14 PM CT
Jason Gore withdrew after just four holes of play at THE PLAYERS Championship this week.

Our View: Gore was sitting at seven strokes over par at the time, and then walked off the course to file his 7th missed weekend in a row. Gore has been struggling in a major way and filed early withdrawals at both the EDS Byron Nelson Championship and the Wachovia Championship. He reports no physical ailment, but it is fair to wonder if more is at play that disappointing play. Until further notice, he is untouchable in your fantasy leagues.
Maggert likely to take time offSunday 5/11, 10:10 PM CT
Jeff Maggert is listed in the official field fo next week's AT&T Classic, but fantasy owners should be weary of a potential withdrawal.

Our View: Maggert has been in Colorado dealing with the unfortunately death of his brother (killed in a single-engine plane crash). It has been a trying season for Maggert before the tragic news, and Maggert has not attended the AT&T Classic since 2001. It seems all too likely he will take the week off, so be prepared.
Garcia wins THE PLAYERSSunday 5/11, 10:09 PM CT
Sergio Garcia has waited a long time to taste the sweet morsels of victory, but today that wait was laid to rest as Garcia surged on the back nine in the final round of play to force Paul Goydos into playoff holes, then parring that first playoff hole as Goydos fell short, giving Garcia the win at THE PLAYERS Championship.

Our View: The conditions today were especially brutal as gusting winds tormented the entire field, causing an already-dry and fast course to wreak havoc on the golfers. Goydos posted his only round over par as a result, leaving the door open for Garcia. The first playoff was held at the famous island par-3 17th where Goydos put his tee shot in the drink. Garcia went for the pin, put the tee shot within four feet of the hole, and cleaned up for par and what now stands as his biggest PGA victory to date.
