MacKenzie out 4-6 weeks

Will MacKenzie is reportedly set to miss six to eight weeks of PGA action after undergoing surgery to repair torn meniscus, according to The Daily Reflector.

Our View: MacKenzie had been attempting to play with the injury this season, but the returns failed to support that continued effort and now he stands in danger of losing his Tour card for next season. To add fuel to the fire of his life, MacKenzie and his wife are also expecting the birth of their first child, another reason for a typical layoff from the game. We will update with news as it becomes available.

Estes withdraws from Colonial

The PGA reports Bob Estes has officially withdrawn from this week's stop at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

Our View: Estes is riding a negative streak of four consecutive missed cuts following a T6 at the Shell Houston Open. The official reasoning for withdrawal has not be disclosed. Estes will be replaced in the field by Tag Ridings.

Love III withdraws from Colonial

Davis Love III has officially withdrawn from this week's Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

Our View: He has been playing more than expected after returning from a serious ankle injury suffered late last season, and while he has not listed a reason for withdrawal, it is fair to expect a rest might be in order. He has been replaced in the field by Billy Andrade.
