Woods done for the yearWednesday 6/18, 6:10 PM CT
Tiger Woods is officially done for the remainder of this PGA season, having suffered a double-stress fracture on his left tibia several weeks ago as well as a ruptured ACL in his left knee.

Our View: Woods had undergone arthroscopic surgery immediately following The Masters, a fact recounted time and again during last week's US Open. As it turns out, Tiger suffered the double-stress fracture in practicing for the Memorial, his planned moment of preparation for the major, and that was the source of the obvious pain Tiger was suffering on drives during the US Open. Woods has told reporters he will address this in detail on his own website in the days ahead, but he has already put an end to his '08 PGA season and will rest and recoup for next year.
Z.Johnson withdraws from TravelersWednesday 6/18, 6:09 PM CT
Zach Johnson has officially withdrawn from this week's Travelers Championship, citing an unspecified wrist injury.

Our View: Johnson has struggled over recent weeks and this particular venue has not treated him especially well in the past. He's kept a busy schedule and the need for a rest doesn't surprise. He will be replaced in the field by Larry Mize.
Donald chooses rest for aching wristWednesday 6/18, 6:08 PM CT
Luke Donald has withdrawn from this week's European Tour stop at the BMW International Open in Munich, Germany.

Our View: Donald recently underwent an MRI exam in Chicago after struggling through the US Open with an ailing wrist, revealing a mild sprain. It seems likely we will not see Donald in the mix for at least two weeks, and while he was planning to do work in Europe and thus has little to offer the PGA fantasy owner, it is an injury to watch with the Open Championship looming just around the corner.
Poulter struggling with bum wristWednesday 6/18, 6:08 PM CT
Ian Poulter has officially withdrawn from this week's stop on the European Tour, the BMW International Open, held in Munich, Germany.

Our View: Poulter withdrew early on Friday of the US Open as well, citing an aching wrist. We have no word on if he has sought medical attention or diagnosis for the wrist, and thus it is hard to look forward and decide just how serious this may be. At face value, there is no reason to believe Poulter won't be healthy for the Open Championship, but this is one to watch.
Woods done for 2008 seasonWednesday 6/18, 11:28 AM CT
Tiger Woods 2008 season is finished after it was revealed that he needs ACL surgery on his left knee, according to CBS Sportsline. In addition to this injury, Woods also sustained a double stress fracture of his left tibia.

Our View: Woods was able to win his 14th major at the US Open despite the dual injuries. The legend of Tiger Woods will only grow with this revelation.
Tiger needs more surgery; done for yearWednesday 6/18, 10:19 AM CT
The Golf Channel is reporting that Tiger Woods needs additional surgery on his left knee, which will keep him out for the rest of the golf season.

Our View: We don't have the details on this yet, but we'll pass them along as we get them.
