Donald fighting to heal injured wristWednesday 7/9, 6:12 PM CT
Luke Donald has officially withdrawn from the Barclays Scottish Open, this week's stop for the PGA European Tour.

Our View: This has no bearing on the PGA fantasy owner but is well worth watching as the Open Championship approaches. Donald is battling to recover from a ligament issue in his left wrist, but he has indicated to reporters that this decision to withdraw is a precautionary measure. He says he feels fine but wants to insure he is 100% for the battle at Royal Birkdale.
Villegas withdraws from John DeereWednesday 7/9, 6:11 PM CT
Camilo Villegas has officially withdrawn from this week's John Deere Classic.

Our View: There is no official word on the reason for withdrawal for a young golfer on the rise, touting two top-10 finishes over his last four starts. We are guessing he is heading overseas early to prepare for the Open Championship (gaining a spot in the field thanks to Kenny Perry's decision to honor his commitment to attend the US Bank Championship). He will be replaced in the field by Robert Damron.
Injuries continue to hamper Oberholser's seasonWednesday 7/9, 6:10 PM CT
Arron Oberholser has officially withdrawn from this week's John Deere Classic.

Our View: This, once again, is not too shocking as Oberholser has been hampered by frustrating hand and back injuries this season. However, he has made singular starts on sporadic occasions and we had hoped this week would have served as his first consecutive appearances this season. Instead, he will be replaced in the field by John Huston.
Armour III withdraws from John DeereWednesday 7/9, 6:09 PM CT
Tommy Armour III has officially withdrawn from this week's John Deere Classic.

Our View: Armour has been touting a hot hand over recent weeks and was in fact featured as our Hot Hand of the week in the PGA Hot Topics feature. However, he has never enjoyed the links at TPC Deere Run and it appears, without a spot in the field at the Open Championship, he has decided to enjoy an extended rest. He will be replaced in the field by Neal Lancaster.
DiMarco suffering from wrist injuryWednesday 7/9, 6:08 PM CT
Chris DiMarco noted on his own website this week that his decision to withdraw from last week's AT&T National was due to a minor wrist injury.

Our View: DiMarco has stated the injury is not serious but he also notes that he will update his status for the US Bank Championship, the alternative PGA tourney played here in the states while the top dogs do battle overseas at the Open Championship, early next week. That leaves questions about the extent of the wrist issues. We'll keep an eye on the situation and update as needed.
Wetterich continues to battle injured wrist, out of John DeereWednesday 7/9, 6:08 PM CT
Brett Wetterich has officially withdrawn from this week's John Deere Classic.

Our View: The wrist injury continues to hamper his progress though he has fought through to start at major tourneys. This is not one of those events and thus he is taking another week to rehabilitate. He will be replaced in the field by Paul Stankowski.
Mallinger withdraws from John DeereWednesday 7/9, 6:07 PM CT
John Mallinger has officially withdrawn from this week's John Deere Classic.

Our View: Mallinger is touting 19 starts this season and more than likely feels a break is due. He will be replaced in the field by Tom Byrum.
Coceres pulls out of John DeereWednesday 7/9, 6:06 PM CT
Jose Coceres has officially withdrawn from this week's John Deere Classic.

Our View: Coceres has battled with a troubelsome wrist injury that has limited his attempts to play to his full potential this season. The John Deere has never been too good for his game over recent campaigns, thus the decision to take a break is not shocking. He will be replaced in the field by Marco Dawson.
Baird withdraws from John DeereWednesday 7/9, 6:05 PM CT
Briny Baird has officially withdrawn from this week's John Deere Classic.

Our View: Baird has carried a hot hand over recent weeks, but rather than carry the good vibes forward, he has filed an early withdrawal for the second consecutive week. He will be replaced in the field by Glen Day.
Lowery replaced by Willis at John DeereWednesday 7/9, 6:05 PM CT
Steve Lowery has officially withdrawn from this week's John Deere Classic.

Our View: Lowery withdrew from this tourney last year as well, and with recent struggles, we are a bit shocked he is not taking the opportunity to get back on track. The PGA has failed to list a reason for the withdrawal but notes Garrett Willis will be taking his place in the field.
Garrigus pulls out of John DeereWednesday 7/9, 6:04 PM CT
Robert Garrigus has officially withdrawn from this week's John Deere Classic.

Our View: Garrigus has not been a factor as a fantasy commodity on the Tour this season, though there have been signs of improvement. He will be replaced in the field by Mark Brooks.
Cox withdraws from John DeereWednesday 7/9, 6:03 PM CT
Kris Cox has officially withdrawn from this week's John Deere Classic.

Our View: Cox has been attempting to gain enough success on the Nationwide Tour to earn status on the PGA circuit, though all five of his PGA starts have ended in missed cuts. He will be replaced in the field by Dan Forsman.
Cejka withdraws from John DeereWednesday 7/9, 6:03 PM CT
Alex Cejka has officially withdrawn from this week's John Deere Classic.

Our View: Cejka has suffered through hardship on the course this season with many more missed cuts than finishes, but there have been minor signs of reversal in recent weeks, including two top-10 finishes over his last three starts. He will be replaced in the field by Chris Riley.
